One hour discrepancy between IPAQ Pocket PC and Outlook

Since 2/29/08 I have noticed after synchronization with Outlook on the desktop that the appointment times have changed to one hour earlier on the IPAQ. I had hoped this would take care of itself after 3/9/08 when the DST change occurred but there has been no improvement. I have downloaded last years DST patch, SP3 and anything else that seem relevant. Any ideas on what I am missing?

There's a corresponding update for the Exchange server also - assuming that is what Outlook connects to.

Making sure the clients and servers are configured for the correct timezone is also something to check.

And also found this Advisory for iPaq's

Would be interesting to see an actual result of the energy savings related to the Energy Policy Act - Ref: "In the spring of 2007, the start dates and the end dates for daylight saving time (DST) in the United States will change to comply with the Energy Policy Act of 2005."

Juie,
Does the IPAQ have the correct time? If so, it is probably the Outlook on the computer that needs patched. Microsoft has a tzmove.exe tool specifically for Outlook that will update all of your calendar items, appointments, tasks, etc. to the correct time. The (shortened) url is below. Let me know if that helps.

I am not sure about the Exchange aspect of the interaction you mentioned....how do I determine that?... I am using ActivSync and it is current. AS far as the time settings on the 2 machines, I have repeatedly set the correct time on the IPAQ but after it has sync'd with the desktop it reverts to an hour earlier and the appointments are off by an hour as well (earlier). I change the time setting on the I PAQ and the appointments do not get to the time they should be. The computer does have the correct time on it.

Re: One hour discrepancy between IPAQ Pocket PC and Outlook

From my personal experience, Juie, even though my client had the correct time, my Outlook items did not. Verify your Calendar show the right time stamp on your appointments and tasks.

After using the tool from MS for Outlook, the time stamps were correct.
