PCI ERROR

Hi,

I am using a HP Vectra VL5 Series PC and got this problem stating "0021-98:PCI
ERROR" everytime when reboot. What do I do ?. Any assistance appreciated.

Hello Mohd,

Did this PC come with Windows 95 preloaded on it? I've heard of a similar
problem with a VL6 that had originally shipped with the HP/OEM version of Win95
preinstalled. If you erase the preloaded OS and replace it with the retail
version, this error can occur. Does that match your scenario?

If so, the PCI ERROR is not hardware related and replacing the board will not
fix the error.

To avoid the message, Windows 95 IDE drivers qualified by HP must be loaded.
Drivers are available on the HP external support website. I'll include the URL
below for you. I don't know which model VL5 you have so I'll take you to the
main Vectra download page and you can enter your product number in so it can
pull the most recent drivers for you.
