Print process using 90% CPU

My NT4.0 server has a few JetDirect print queues set up on it. Yesterday
morning I arrived to find the server running really slow. Upon investigation I
discovered that the process HPW6ITB.EXE was taking 90% cpu capacity. I killed
the process, and all is now OK. Can anyone tell me what this file does, since I
can't find any info on it? The description is "HP Printing System for Windows"
and the version number is 1998.1009.0.0.

Re: Print process using 90% CPU

Hello Gerry,

The file you deleted, HPW6ITB.EXE, is one of the printer driver files for the
HP 2500C printer. You might want to check the website for later drivers and
then update the driver in NT.

Good luck,

By the way, don't use the active Print status on on client site, becasue it can
the processor going up, and the memory will not release after some time. (Print
a jobs and see from the Task Manager Performance Task)
