This is Brand new notebook came with adapter??if so adpater might be week.
Pls let me know how much time is taken for the battery to get charge 100%.Refer this o/p time with specfications sheet.
Possible causes.
1)Battery might be week.
2)Adapter dc filtering prob(replace the adapter).

SolutionHappy New Year.
Once you connect the Adapter, Increase the Brightness to the fullest.
Then Disconnect the adapter, Increase the Brightness to the fullest again.
Then try connecting the adapter again.
Its like you need to set a brightness level for "On power" & "on Battery";
& every time they are switched across the Brightness level selected .. kicks in.

I hope you have an excellent 2008.
I solved the problem. When I started looking to do what you suggested, I discovered Funct F8, and Voila!, my screen is good again.
Difficult to be so stupid.
