Simpler Navigation for Servers and Operating Systems
Completed: a much simpler Servers and Operating Systems section of the Community. We combined many of the older boards, so you won't have to click through so many levels to get at the information you need. Check the consolidated boards here as many sub-forums are now single boards.

Windows sysadm question/recommendation

Windows sysadm question/recommendation

Has anyone taken "H4278S accelerated training for Windows 2000 for experienced UNIX system administrators" offered by HP. Do you recommend this class to someone who has HP-UX sysadm experience, but no sysadm experience on Wintel platform? Thanks.

Re: Windows sysadm question/recommendation

Jules, I have not taken the H4278S course but as someone who has a foot in both camps I am very skeptical of any course that seems to imply the sysadmin skillsets between Unix and Micro$oft are more than vaguely alike.
Not nearly enough of your Unix knowledge and experience will be useful "on the Dark Side" and a one-week course is far too superficial.
