duplicate nic teams
Weird issue with Windows HP NIC teaming.
Step by Step problem.
1 - Installed secondary nic card(NC382T) on my on my DL360g6. There are 6 to be installed on 1 domain(1 as DC).
2 - Instal Windows 2008 r2 on my DL360, no hardware issues whatsoever.
3 - setup NIC teaming, port 1 local, port 1 on nc382t.
4 - Add IP all information, etc.
5 - reboot, all is good, on the network and everyone is happy so far.
6 - upgrade the 1st server to a DC. reboot, all good.
But, then I notice I cannot get to the network. My NIC team is GONE!!! It's on all the other machines except the DC! So, I just created another one, "NIC TEAM #1". Once completed, trying to add the IP information says that the IP has already been assigned to "NIC TEAM #1". But there is only the one I created available. I give it another IP, then it works.
Maybe the NIC team created initially is associated with the local profile, then disabled during dcpromo?? If that were true, I'd have to demote this thing. I don't want to do this. For testing purposes, I get another dl360g6 and create the NIC team after domain is created. Suddenly, I have TWO nic teams after restarting!!! Does Windows 2008 like to duplicate HP nic teams for fun?
