hp pavillion zx5380us laptop power off problem...

Dear Forum, Whenever I turned on my laptop this a.m. it turned off after about 10 seconds. I restarted it 5 or 6 times with same results. I left it alone all day and tried it again tonight with same results. Finally I took out the battery and turned it on and it stayed on. I've had it for 15 months without any other problems. Why is this happening?

From your description, I would have to wonder if perhaps the battery was going bad.
