mitsumi cd-rom?

Burned a disc using a HP CD-R why will my Mitsumi drive not read the burned
disk?

Did you close the disc, or just the session? Many less expensive CD drives
won't read multi-session CDs, so if you don't close the whole CD, they won't
read it. This is also true of CD-RW discs.
