transfering documents between windows operating systems

How do You transfer documents and photoes between window VISTA [lap top] and windows 8 [desk top, all in 1]

Well, you can put them on a USB stick and copy them that way.

Or email them.

Or set up a workgroup/homegroup and use networking and shared folders to copy the files.
