Lot of files with string inside to be replaced

Hello,

Got other problem - on 3 or 4 volumes I have several text files, in which is a string to be replaced. I can be obviously done by hand, one-by-one, but it would be time consuming. In more moderd *x world it can be simply dine using fing, gre, awk etc., but I am looking for advices how to achieve it safely using NonStop tools.

Is there any simple way to do massive string replacement in text files?
