ANALDISK-I-BADHIGHWATER on files after restore

Restored and image backup to disk volume and ran that had been initialize /nohighwater... get the BADHIGHWATER messge in anal/disk... so I initialized the volume /highwater and re-restored the image backup.. got the same message... any ideas? The files were not marked /nobackup prior to the image backup.

Re: ANALDISK-I-BADHIGHWATER on files after restore

Thanks for your response.

I have read that thread and it appeared to discuss files marked /nobackup - in particular the pagefile, etc. I have the message on other files that were not marked /nobackup.

Would simply "touching" the files with a set file/... remove the inconsistency?

Re: ANALDISK-I-BADHIGHWATER on files after restore

Try it?

But before you do, more importantly, do the DUMP/HEAD/BLOC=COUNT=0 suggested in the other threat.

If you prefer not to reply with a whole header (in a .TXT attachment) then the interesting lines are those with:

Highest block:
End of file block:
End of file byte:
Highest block written:
And maybe the MAP area to see whether the counts jive.

fyi, Verify subtracts one (true) from the EOF if the FFB is non-zero then compares again the highwatermark. If greater or equal, then it reports the message.

Hein.

Re: ANALDISK-I-BADHIGHWATER on files after restore

I logged a call with HP. They indicated that this error has been seen before and sometimes simply dismounting the disk and remounting will correct. I had to reboot the system for other reasons and when I looked at the results of the anal/disk again... no errors. This was a strange error but it cleared itself.

Thanks for everyone's responses.
