Solution
Lori,
which device do you have configured for the active console output, input and error device ? I believe I first had the
Acpi(PNP0501,0)/Uart(9600 N81)/VenMsg(Vt100)
entry selected (with serial cable connected to Serial A port), then later switched to the
Acpi(HWP0002,700)/Pci(1|1)/Uart(9600 N81)/VenMsg(Vt100+)
entry to have the OpenVMS console connected to the MP port.
Volker.

Re: BMC
Hi Volker,
Thank you! That was the issue, I had my console input/output directed to the MP port, once I redirected to the on board serial port, I was able to go to EFI. thank you!!
