CD/DVD-Writer on OVMS

is it possible that i can use a CD/DVD-Writer on OVMS?
If yes, what i must do?

Briefly, use CDRECORD and a SCSI CD-R if you only want to use the VMS system. You'll also need the LDdriver to create the disk images to burn.

Alternatively, you might like to think about using LD to create disk images and then use a PC to burn the image. IDE drives are cheaper than SCSI ones, but you do get what you pay for unfortunately...

The pioneer brand DVD writer ( with CD write also) works with OVMS.

the s/w driver is available from a german professor ( right now unable to remember the name)

Interface is slightly involved.
it requires that u create a logical device on the normal disk, and keep backing up/writing all file to that device. when all files u want to are over , just enter the write cmd code.

completion is on its own.

this works on the SCSI I/f.

I am using this on a DPW600au, VMS 8.2 using an
LG GSA-4120B and have great success with it.
