Can the lan_device be disable?

I want to disable one lan adapter in openvms7.3-1.The adapter's name is EWA0:.
Disable the adapter means when I use
$show device ewa0,it will show nothing,and when I use
$@sys$startup:tcpip$config,it will not be shown in Interface config.
Can I do something in SCACP or LANCP or in P>>> ??
or it's impossible?

Re: Can the lan_device be disable?

to use a famous phrase - what problem are you trying to solve?

Who or what is to be prevented from using EWA0?

Re: Can the lan_device be disable?

Olive,

you can prevent devices from being configured by using the command:

SYSMAN> IO SET EXCLUDE = device

(says SYSMAN HELP) - I've never come across any situation which caused me to use this command.
