Configuring AdvSrv Lock Timeout

Does anyone know how to configure the Advance Server file lock timeout, as per this thread :-

http://groups.google.com/group/comp.os.vms/browse_frm/thread/73a1aa3263492001/1e032070f3c90f00?lnk=gst&q=pathworks+file+locking&rnum=5#1e032070f3c90f00

Thanks, Rob.

Re: Configuring AdvSrv Lock Timeout

Rob,

$ ADMIN/CONFIG -> Advanced

allows to enable the open file caching and to set the lock timeout.

Re: Configuring AdvSrv Lock Timeout

I've tried setting "Open File Caching Interval (msec):" to 500, but it still seems to hold onto the file for about 5 seconds.

"Use Open File Caching" is also switched off, by the way.

I take it this is the setting you're referring to?

Re: Configuring AdvSrv Lock Timeout

Yes, I was referring to this setup.
Did you restart the advanced server?

Check the file PWRK$LMLOGS:PWRK$LMSRV_node.LOG.
It should contain the current value, search for "open file caching".
