Creating a TNA line on a Dec90M for a printer

I'm trying to create a TNA line using $telnet/create/idle... command. using the IP of my DEC90M server, and the port number as 2000+acctual number (ex. - 2030 for port 30 on the server). The printer won't take any prints (after it did when I defined it as LTA line) and trying to copy a file to it gives me the "hangup" error.
Should I use a different method to calculate the port number for the telnet command?

Correction - the Decserver type is DS900TM.

I wonder if the DS port is correctly setup - can you post the result from SHOW PORT?

Re: Creating a TNA line on a Dec90M for a printer

Have a look and see that you have a "Telnet Listener" setup on the port in question. You should see something similar to:

Local> show telnet listener 2016

Connections: Enabled

Listener TCP-port: 2016
Identification: somequeue
Ports: 16
Connections: Enabled

If not, use the DEFINE/SET/CHANGE TELNET LISTENER command to set it up. You'll need priv's on the terminal server.

Re: Creating a TNA line on a Dec90M for a printer

I did comfigure the telnet listener to be enable, but my mistake was the port no. definition was set to "all" and not the acctual port number.
Why they allowed it to be "all" I can't tell.

Anyway, after configuring it to be like the acctual port number, problem solved.

Thanks.
