Re: DEC Terminal Server Management

That's nice, but has anyone tried to install
it recently? On my Alpha (VMS V8.3), the
best I've gotten is:
%VMSINSTAL-E-INSFAIL, The installation of TSMECO09 V2.1 has failed.
or:
Installing Terminal Server Manager VMS Version V2.1-08...
Inavlid DECnet version installed.
The following table describes the valid DECnet/OSI & OpenVMS releases:
DECnet Release VMS Version(s)
-------------- --------------
V6.3 V6.1, V6.2
V7.0 V7.0
V7.1 V7.0,V7.1
These versions apply to both the VAX and the Alpha releases.
%VMSINSTAL-E-INSFAIL, The installation of TSMECO08 V2.1 has failed.
or:
Installing Terminal Server Manager VMS Version V2.1-07...
Inavlid DECnet version installed.

V7.1 V7.0,V7.1

%VMSINSTAL-E-INSFAIL, The installation of TSMECO07 V2.1 has failed.
I dimly recall having looked into this a few
years ago (VMS V7.3-2?), but I remember no
useful details.

Does the "T" in "T5.0.3" make it "Inavlid"?

Re: DEC Terminal Server Management
AFAIK, the TSM tool installs and works just fine - after the KITINSTAL.COM version check gets (locally) hacked.
Long version of "hacked": use BACKUP to unpack the saveset from the kit, edit KITINSTAL.COM to tweak the version check, rebuild the saveset with SPKITBLD.COM (or BACKUP), and Bob's Your Uncle.
