Debugger PC Client

Hi,

Where can I find the Debugger PC Client that's mentioned in the Debugger manual ?

It does not seem to be on the OpenVMS v7.3-1 Alpha CD or on any of the SPL DEC02 CDs.

The file is:

[DEBUG_CLIENTS011.KIT]DEBUGX86010.EXE

Re: Debugger PC Client

Long time ago there was an extension on Microsoft Visual Studio that allowed this - but this is no longer available officially.

Re: Debugger PC Client

Compaq Enterprise Toolkit included a debug client I think. I've not seen a version later than V2.0 (dated August 2000)

Re: Debugger PC Client

You'll find that directory on the CD labeled "OpenVMS Version 7.x (Alpha and VAX) Layered Products" with a volume label of "VMS07xLP" where "x" is your minor VMS version number. This is a kit from one of the layered product CDs that accompanies the system CD -- NOT one of the commercial products on the SPL/condist.

The term "layered product" has different and confusingly incompatible meanings. It may refer to a kit that is included as part of the base OS but not installed by default, such as the internationalization kits or the debugger client. It is also used to refer to the separately available commercial products, such as the Enterprise Toolkit. As far as I know, the debugger client and the Enterprise Toolkit bear no relation to one another.
