Advanced Server 7.3A on OpenVMS Alpha 7.3-1.
If we enable VMS DISKQUOTAs on our primary user volume, will Advanced Server take any notice of them? Or will it allow users to create files via their PCs regardless?
Thanks!

Re: Does Advanced Server obey OpenVMS Disk Quotas?
As far as I know, AdvancedServer does NOT follow disk quotas.
The Wizard answered a similar question as:
Due to technical issues, disk quota enforcement is not supported in the
PATHWORKS V6 nor Advanced Server V7.2 products. At this time, there is
no known viable technical solution that will permit the necessary disk
quota interactions.

Solution
The last answer, refering to a Wizard reply, is very outdated. That Wizard reply refers to a problem in 1999. That problem was fixed in November 1999, and released in some flavor of V7.2 (V7.2B? V7.2A-ECO3?) and also V6.0C-ECO3 in the 2000 time frame. I need to have the Wizard update that answer.
(I didn't write that answer for the Wizard, or, it would have reflected the fact that there was already a fix in the works for that problem.)
The server should honor quotas, by default. If you want it to ignore quotas, add these lines to PWRK.INI:
[LMSRV]
START_WITH_EXQUOTA = YES
Hope this helps

Re: Does Advanced Server obey OpenVMS Disk Quotas?
Thanks, Brad! I had seen that Wizard note and wondered if it was still the case. If we have any problems we'll log a support call.
