Note the vMedia support means you can use the DVD in your laptop.

Can the method that Matt has mentioned be used to ftp device firmware to "the EFI filesystem"?

There is an emulex "utility" that does firmware updates (that has zero documentation), which asks for a directory path for the firmware file. I have downloaded a zip file with the fw, but I have no clue (zero doc) what format the file should be in, what filesystem the utility can access, and how to get anything there, maybe it's the efi filesystem...

These systems firmware is a nightmare to maintain, and there is just no documentation.
Can you imagine if we used PCs to manage our enterprise systems? ... oops.

Tom,
it would be better if you started your own thread. The firmware is best updated as a set using the CD/dVD but it possible to use the ftp client software from the EFI shell to obtain firmware files.
