Re: Error primary input file memory exhausted
Has the storage configuration changed for this from this AlphaServer ES47 box while it was in storage?
Does booting with logging assist with the diagnosis? The following turns on full boot-time logging:
boot -flags [sys-root],0,30000

Re: Error primary input file memory exhausted
I'd be worried about why you need more PIOPAGES. The default should be sufficient to boot. Something is consuming excessive process dynamic memory. Adjusting PIOPAGES might get you past the boot problem, but there may be other consequences. Masking the symptom doesn't necessarily mean the problem has been solved.
Maybe there's a non-zero RMS default multibuffer count for sequential files? (see SHOW RMS).
