Re: Fresh royalty - cnb
That IS an impressive history!
>>>
One of my favorite VAX machines to work on, VAX8650
<<<
Oh well, I had the first of those in the Netherlands to configure and integrate.
Imagine, for 2 weeks a brandnew 8650 was _MY_ PC (as in truely my Personal Computer) !
--- only, I still did not get your name. Is it really that big a secret?
Proost.
Have one on me.

Re: Fresh royalty - cnb
Congrats with your new title.
You make me feel young again (but hey, I started on PDP11/34 and then HP3000).

Re: Fresh royalty - cnb
cnb,
Congrats from Flanders.
Keep on foruming.
Kris (aka Qkcl)
BTW, I guess the nick 'cnb' means 'crash and burn' (see Merijn's post).

Re: Fresh royalty - cnb
I remember working with PDPs and typing in the boot sequence for UD-33 controllers to format new disks. At the end, it was a good week when a disk didn'st fail somewhere.

Re: Fresh royalty - cnb
I got from my Moto-Cross days when someone from Dirt Bike Magazine took a photo of me riding with a cast on my broken foot and caught me in another endo (end-over-end) during my heat. They posted it in their column 'Crash and Burn'.
It also applies to a very young FE working a PM on an 11/70 when DEC first put the 871 breakers in the open area under the cabinet door in the rear and if you step just close enough with (my) big feet, you can cause quite a panic for the system manager running month end.
Been there - Done that.
;-)
