HP Advocacy Request ignored, or just delayed?
HP Advocacy Request ignored, or just delayed?
I tried to enter an Advocacy request, and it reported "Submitted".
See
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=995674
After seeing nothing for nearly a week, I re-submitted it.
Still nothing.
Is it customary that it takes that long, or is there another issue?
If it was somehow not acceptable, I would have expected some message telling me so?
Proost.
Have one on me.

Re: HP Advocacy Request ignored, or just delayed?
Therefor I conclude it must be a problem with you :-). Wrong first name?
Mind you, I receviced no comments, good or bad, so that must me a problem with me.
(my suggestion was to be able to pass entire FDL files as strings).
Seriously though... There appears to be a human approval process, from a volunteer organization and I could image this person is simply on vacation or otherwise engaged.
Just a datapoint,
groetjes,
Hein.

From the welcome page of HP Advocacy:

where "email" is a link to a posting facility.
I used this to report my unsuccessful attemps to find Issue 1572.
This was the "reply":
----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
(reason: 550 unknown user)
----- Transcript of session follows -----
... while talking to cmail1.neology.com.:
>>> RCPT To:
<<< 550 unknown user
550 5.1.1... User unknown
I am afraid I will not get any response from HP after that... :-(
And, I _STILL_ have not entered the "I Agree" to Issue 1572 by Andy Park, following Bart's request in
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=999462
Proost.

Re: HP Advocacy Request ignored, or just delayed?
I recently submitted a DCL change, and was amazed that it got agreed and added to the development list! Just need to wait another 4 years now :)
I submitted a couple of new requests yesterday, so I'll let you know if I get a response.

Re: HP Advocacy Request ignored, or just delayed?
good to read that!
Now, if only it can be backported to 7.3-2 (or, if Progress can be convinced to deliver an 8.x version of their software, that they obsoleted 1/1/2001)...
Proost.
