Hi, I've the following issue.
The password for our OpenVMS 8.3-1H1 rx2660 is not known anymore.
I've already tried to follow the procedure at
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=120&prodSeriesId=3346452&prodTypeId=15351&objectID=c01617802
To keep it short:
- I selected the EFI Shell
- there I tried
set vms_flags 0,1
with set I checked the settings, yes there it is: VMS_FLAGS 0,1
exit the EFI Shell and selected my OS to start.
The OS do not stop the bootprocess until it is fully up and running. There is only 1 OS I can select from the Boot Manager.
What do I do wrong?
Kind Regards,
Frank

Can't say I've ever used that technique. (I'd wonder if your own boot menu settings might be overriding that VMS_FLAGS approach.)
Here's the approach I have used:
http://labs.hoffmanlabs.com/node/204
Put another way, I specify the flags directly when I invoke the vms_boot bootstrap loader.

Re: How do I get to the SYSBOOT prompt
Thanks. This did the trick. Looks like the installed bootmanager overrides the settings.
Thanks again,
Frank
