Interesting patch VMS732_LAN-V0700 for those who want LL device e.g. for Availability Manager

HP released a patch VMS732_LAN-V0700 this week with the following text:

After applying the UPDATE V16 and LAN V6 ECO kit and rebooting OpenVMS Alpha systems, LAN Failover devices were not available. The UPDATE V16 and LAN V6 ECO kit introduced a change in the LAN permanent device database.
This has caused incompatibilities with the existing LAN device database files created by previous LANCP versions.
The issue has been fixed in LANACP when converting the old LAN device database entries to the new format.

Jan,

note that VMS732_LAN-V0700 REQUIRES VMS732_UPDATE-V1900 to be installed first. So not a 'quick fix' for those running into these problems when applying one of the older UPDATE kits.

I like the excessive pool consumption fix. I suffered this about 10 months ago on an 8.3-1H1 system where we were being asked to handle so many internet transactions that the system crashed with excessive pool consumption.
The firm concerned have done work on the application too since then...
