Intermittent Hang on Alphaserver DS20E

Hello,

Can you help me on my problem of Hang system.

Subject: Intermittent Hang on Alpha1.

I have to ask the customer to force Crash when the system is Hang with CTRL/P + CRASH.
The Message is: Kernel Stack not valid.

You will find below information on the Cluster configuration.

That reminds me of a multiple-day debug session on a 2-node cluster with V7.3. Turned out that there was a termination problem on the SCSI bus and one of the nodes decided to freeze when too many bus resets occured.

Had some Aplhastations in hang when bad blocks were found on the system disk. Shadowing should be standard ...

Btw : next time put your text in an enclosure.
Btw2 : use extention .txt because me (and probably others) can't open all extentions because of security rules.

In addition to the recommendation to tune your system with AUTOGEN, if I were you I'd seriously consider updating the firmware to V6.9 or later. The firmware you're running is many versions behind and there may have been some significant fixes in the interim.

I'm not saying that I think this is necessarily related to your problem, but it could be.

Hello

I was looking in your modparams and now i am confused.

To my opinion the alloclass parameter in the modparams.dat file should be 3 and not 1.

Because the disks are $3$dke mentioned and not $1$dke.

I think VMS handles the disk now through MSCP instead off directly connecting through your scsi interface.

Maybe this is why you have problems.

New firmware is installed

All last patches (rating 1) for OpenVMS 7.3 are installed.

Autogen has been executed on 2 members.

At this time, the 2 servers run correctly.
