KZPCM on AXP V7.1-1H2?

I'm downgrading (yes, downgrading) an Alphaserver 1200 system to 7.1-1H2 to act as a test bed for a production system locked in at that OS level. For some reason the KZPCM and the devices hooked up to it don't show up after boot. They do show up at the console, and show up fine under 7.2-1 on the same machine. I read on comp.os.vms that this configuration should work but might need a patch. Unfortunately, it didn't mention which patch.

Any clues?

you need the driver for the KZPCM (shipped with the card) SYS$PKWDRIVER I think it was, and a line in SYS$DEVICES.DAT (or simiar)

I've got some AlphaServer 1200 running VMS V7.1 -1H1 just fine. I will dig up the detail tomorrow when I'm at work.

Re: KZPCM on AXP V7.1-1H2?

Just to follow up:

Once I knew it was an entry in the sys$user_config.dat file and it was looking for sys$pkwdriver.exe I got the card recognized and working properly. I copied the .dat and .exe from a working 7.1-1H2 system and viola!

Thanks Ian, et. al., for your quick help!
