Keep Alive IP Issue

Is there a way to enable and configure keepalive on UCX v.4.0 or v.4.2 ?

I have been sucessful in configuring this on TCP/IP Services v.5.3 using the sysconfig tool..... but v.4.x doesn't have this feature.

Can it be achieved through logical names, or is there another way to do this ?

I need to configure it for all IP traffic, since we are using MQ Client which doesn't create a service.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Keep Alive IP Issue

I do not have a Ucx 4.x node available at the moment, but
$ ucx set proto tcp /xxx
should do it

if you do
$ ucx help set proto
do you have the qualifiers ?

Re: Keep Alive IP Issue

$ ucx sh proto tcp/param
should show you the parameters used.

Re: Keep Alive IP Issue

Hello Jagbir,

actually you might want to create a Service for MQ. Ours is looking like this:

Service: MQSERIES
State: Enabled
Port: 1414 Protocol: TCP Address: 0.0.0.0
Inactivity: 5 User_name: MQM Process: MQSERIES
Limit: 1 Active: 0 Peak: 0

File: SYS$MANAGER:MQRECV.COM
Flags: Listen

Socket Opts: Rcheck Scheck
Receive: 0 Send: 0

Log Opts: None
File: not defined

Security
Reject msg: not defined
Accept host: 0.0.0.0
Accept netw: 0.0.0.0

This is TCPIP 5.3, sorry no 4.x around here any more.

When the service is in use, do a ucx show dev/fu and check if the option KEEP is present. Otherwise, keepalive is ignored.

To my knowledge, you can not force keepalive in version 4.x. So you need to define thew service.

Can this person, naming himself FNORD be removed. His contributions have no meaning in this forum (or anywhere). Just thinking he's important, it seems.

I think I speak for most of the forum members.
