Hardware - AlphaServer DS10 with 2GB memory
Operating System - OpenVMS 7-3_2 patched to V0800
Drive - HP Ultrium tape drive
Issue:
We are trying to run Storageworks Library and Tape Tools 4.1 (latest patch) to troubleshoot an intermittent tape drive problem.
The instructions say to set the terminal to VT100, define a logical USR to the LTT directory and then run HP_LTT.EXE.
We keep getting a crash dump:
C++ runtime abort: an undefined pure virtual function was called
%SYSTEM-F-OPCCUS, opcode reserved to customer fault at PC=FFFFFFFF80AB1ED4, PS=0
000001Be usr sys$sysdevice:[vms$common.opt.ltt.misc.usr]
The LTT team sent us a file called .lttreg that needs to be in the login directory. It appears to be a configuration file but of course VMS won't let us save a file named ".lttreg"
Anyone have an idea of how I can get this running?
As always, thank you in advance.
Mike Poole

SolutionI haven't tried with 4.1, but I found that 4.0 operates fine under VMS 7.3-2 without any .lltreg files.
I will see if I can get the 4.1 kit and try again our my server.
You say "patched to V0800", but have you also done the C runtime library (VMS732_ACRTL) ? That is not included in the main bundle.

Re: LTT on OpenVMS 7-3_2
That sounds like it could be the culprit. I will install it and see what happens.
Thank you!

Re: LTT on OpenVMS 7-3_2
I have just downloaded and tried 4.1 SR1, and had no problem starting it up on my home system.
I have ACRTL V3 patch installed.
