Looking for suggestions how to run ABS with a 3rd party VTL
Hallo all,
we tried to use ABS V4.5 to make backups on a 3rd party VTL (virtual tape library).
But we kept having these messages:
%MDMS-E-MRDERROR, error accessing jukebox with MRD
-MDMS-E-MRDMSG, Robot Illegal request
Finding the jukebox and drive with SYSMAN IO FIND_WWID and AUTOCONF went fine. The jukebox is $2$GGA0.
But loading and unloading volumes and making backups gives strange behaviour and message "Robot Illegal request".
Is there anyone else out there who succeeded using a 3rd party virtual tape library with ABS?

Hi,
Do you have MRU installed on system, if so, can you execute MRU commands?
I have seen this error if the jukebox is busy and not responding to the request.
Regards,
Nagendra

Re: Looking for suggestions how to run ABS with a 3rd party VTL
Hello Nagendra,
No, we dont have MRU installed because ABS has its own robot (Or maybe I'm wrong on that?).
Also ABS starts numbering the slots from 0 (0,1,2, etc.) and the VTL from 1 (1,2,3 etc.) which may give problems.
