No (disk) description in disk space event VMS servers

The traps of Windows servers contain a device description so I can see the name over the device that is causing the disk space trap.
All my VMS servers do not report the description. Why?

Hi Albert,
I can't understand exactly you need.
Are you debugging some program?
Where you see this description and what trap do you refer?
Can you explore the network and can you see the description of shared folder?
Post again if you will help.

Re: No (disk) description in disk space event VMS servers

Albert,

I use the application launch feature tied to Uncleared Critical and Major Events.

I format the e-mail I send based on variables sent by Insight Manager.
I clearly see the device that has the problem this way.

I find this way of handling the e-mails better as I have more control over format and content.

What versions of the Agents are you using on VMS? Mine show up as 5.50 from the Device Page. I'm still running a Test variant of 3.0, I really should update to the proper release.

Re: No (disk) description in disk space event VMS servers

On VMS I see:
Threshold Variable: cpqHoFileSysPercentSpaceUsed.3
Threshold Type: absSuppressFallingTrap
Current Value: 95
Threshold Top: 90
Threshold Owner: Insight Web Agent
Severity Level: warning
Description: disk space

On W2000 I see:
Threshold Variable: cpqHoFileSysPercentSpaceUsed.5
Threshold Type: absSuppressFallingTrap
Current Value: 90
Threshold Top: 90
Threshold Owner: Insight Web Agent
Severity Level: warning
Description: I:MINLNV1040S_I [NTFS] disk space

In reports of VMS server I can see the description correctly.
We use VMS agents version 4.70

There is a newer Management Agents kit available (V3.0) which works better with Insight Manager 7.
