I am trying to FTP from one VMS box to other VMS box it is coming out after some time with error %TCPIP-E-FTP_SEND, cannot send on socket -SYSTEM-F-LINKDISCON, network partner disconnected logical link 550-Network READ failure. 550 connect to network object timed-out or failed
however i am not finding any problem while telnet these machine.
How are the boxes connected to the network? Are the NICs and switch ports configured for the correct speed and duplex setting? If anything is set to auto-negotiate, set it to the desired setting i.e. DO NOT use any auto-negotiating. I have found that when things are auto-negotiating that all seems OK until you try to do something like a file copy across the network or anything else that puts a load on the connection. Are you seeing any other network problems? This is just a guess.
