Subject: Updated VMS Information - Ok for external use - Please distribute

Dear distribution lists,

As you can tell I am back in my office after a wonderful three weeks doing the European OpenVMS Technical Update Days. This message of updated VMS information is long and please keep in mind that urls can and do wrap to the next line, they all work I have tried them all.

Sorry about this size of this, but its better than sending individual email messages.

Reminder where the jobs are concerned I have nothing to do with hiring anyone.

Warm Regards as always,
Sue

Subject: My brother's golf course and range

I know that I've told some of you about this and that you'd asked for more information if you were over this way. If it's not of interest then please ignore it.

If you're in the Edinburgh area and are interested in golf (I'm not!) then you might find this of use: http://www.kings-acregolf.com/2.html Apparently they'll also put together "day packages" for conferences etc. if you'd find that of use.

Claude Harmon is Butch Harmon's son (Butch is the coach for Tiger Woods). Ian knows him well and persuaded him to join him at Kings Acre working with Alan.

It's supposed to be pretty good.

Cheers, Colin.

Subject: RE: Basic Vax Programmers

Thank you for your quick response, Sue.

Our client is a major Healthcare insurance provider in Woodland Hills, CA. They are looking for a number of full time and contract VAX Programmers. Their most pressing focus is to find experienced BASIC programmers though they require COBOL programmers as well. The big challenge has been to find people with recent experience. Responsibilities will include:

Formulate/define system scope, approach and objectives for assigned projects. Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Responsible for program design, decoding, testing, debugging and documentation. Responsible for quality of system and project components developed by current team. Develop, test, debug, maintain and document components of information systems applications. Employ programming and design techniques that ensure adherence to software development standards, performance efficiency, reliable and easily maintainable code and self-documenting programs. Create appropriate test plans for unit testing and support system and user acceptance testing.

A minimum of 5 years systems analysis/design and development experience in a complex distributed environment is required in addition to significant BASIC or COBOL coding skills.

I hope you have safe and productive trip in Europe. Have a great weekend and thanks for your assistance.
