Opening ports in TCPIP

Am new to this arena. I need to find out how to to open port 22 on our VMS V7.3-2 system so we can start using ssh.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Opening ports in TCPIP

Which TCPIP product are you using?

If HP TCPIP Services for OpenVMS then go into
@SYS$STARTUP:TCPIP$CONFIG
and configure the SSH server.

Other products have similar.

Re: Opening ports in TCPIP

Enter:

$ TCPIP SHOW VERSION

If you get a display that shows your version number, you're running the HP TCPIP. There are patches, including an extensive ssh update in ECO 4. Browse the patch database here on itrc for the latest update.

If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over? Reach me at first_name + "." + last_name at sysmanager net

Re: Opening ports in TCPIP

Thank you Ian & Andy. Between you and some internal help we got the SSH server established and working.
