I want to know if there is a port of the gmp library?
I need it to port a Python library named pycrypto (collection of cryptographic algorithms and protocols, implemented for use from Python) which is used by the other pure Python library named paramiko (module Python that implements the SSH2 protocol for secure (encrypted and authenticated) connections to remote machines).
Thanks,
JF

Re: Port of gmp library on OpenVMS
I've been working on getting the current GMP kit to build on OpenVMS/Alpha 7.3-2 recently for a similar reason. I'm wanting to install Perl NET::SSH2:: on that system. I have made some progress, but I haven't actually gotten the GMP kit to complete the build yet. I'm working on getting the configure to complete cleanly. I made a lot of headway a couple of weeks ago, but have had to wait a while due to since then to continue due to being away from the office with limited time to pursue it. I'll be taking up the effort again this week as I have time available.

SolutionHi JF,
hasn't it already been ported elsewhere? Please search for VMS and GMP at the following web pages...
OpenVMS Patch for version 4.2.2
http://nchrem.tnw.tudelft.nl/openvms/software2.html
OpenVMS: Alexey Chupahin has ported ClamAV to OpenVMS
The ClamAV package requires the GMP library to verify the digital signature of the virus database. When building ClamAV you need the GMP library and its headers: if you are using Debian just run apt-get install libgmp3-dev, if you are using an RPM based distribution install the gmp-devel package. You├в ll need to rerun ./configure and recompile ClamAV.
