Printer queue forms still used?
I am currently at a site where there are about 100 different forms (SHOW/QUEUE/FORM), but nobody knows wether these forms are used or not. I want to clear out the mess, but how to determine forms in use?
I looked into accounting - nop
I looked into audit queue - nop
I looked into acl on forms - nop
What did I overlook?
Thnx,
Bob.

Re: Printer queue forms still used?
But it might also be configured in a database.
Also possible is to modify all print queues with "set queue/retain=all". Thus you see all the prints that were executed. But don't forget to cleanup.

Re: Printer queue forms still used?
Forms are indeed in databases,
/RETAIN=ALL is new to me, but unfortunately no option, considering the number of printouts being made.
Thnx anyway,
Bob.

Re: Printer queue forms still used?
create a permanent job that scans the queues and deletes the retained entries e.g. every minute. And log which form was used.
Can be done with dcl !

Re: Printer queue forms still used?
Can't afford any mishap, printing is core here. Although my DCL is pretty good, I won't be allowed to run it on our 50+ production systems.
That's why I was looking for an accounting-like solution.
Bob.
