Reg. Fiber channel clustering...

hi friends,

I have a doubt about fiber channel clustering...

I have four alpha servers (es40 and ds20e) working on Mc and lan. can we form a fiber channel clustering with fiber channel switch?

If possible please let me know the procedure...

If not possible, why?

To my knowledge, the cluster protocol is not implemented on fiber channel. It could but isn't. Idem scsi.

Wim is correct. FC is a replacement for SCSI. To replace CI or MC, you need at least one interface that supports SCS, Ethernet being the most cost effective (Gb recommended). Gb Ethernet + FC is a good replacement for ether CI or MC (in most circumstances)
