SNMP
Regularly I get "No reply".
I do :
$ mc TCPIP$SNMP_REQUEST hub900_s1 public getnext -lr5s5 1.3.6.1.4.1
The device is a hub900. Regularly means once every 40 runs. VMS7.3, TCP 5.3 ECO 2.
Anyone knows why ?

Re: SNMP
I guess the timeout of 5 seconds was too low (the procedure was running in batch with prio=2).

Re: SNMP
It seems NOT to be related to the timeout.
I specified retrying 10 times with a timeout of 60 seconds. After minimum 1 minute and maximum 3 minutes, the "no reply" is given.
In all cases at least 20 items were fetched with success before the "no reply" was given.
I increased process priority to 5. No improvement.
I do the same thing with SAN switches and they work fine. All my hub900 have the problem.
No specialist in the house ?
The current command uses -lr10w60 as options.

Re: SNMP
e.g. -m 5 -s 5
2) the hub900 was power cycled and since then working correctly
3) The same problem occured with a sanswitch. Power cylce it (not reboot !) and it works again.

Re: SNMP
because I believe you already checked for any different things between interactive and detached mode, I've persuaded trouble stands exactly in execution mode.
I guess, your application, sometimes need to use reply command that's not avaiable in detached mode because is a DCL command.
I hope this clue can help you.
Merry Christmas!
