SNS Watchdog transport changing to TCPIP - what ports?

After running SNS Watchdog (PSW) for many years using DECNET as the transport, the customer is moving the servers running the Agent behind a firewall that blocks DECNET traffic. I'm converting the consolidator to use TCPIP (Digital TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS VAX Version V4.2 - ECO 5 on a VAX 4000-600 running OpenVMS V6.2)as the transport. What ports will Watchdog use for communicating between the consolidator and the agents? Are they 512, 513 a 514? Does Watchdog use "R" type commands (RCP, RSH, ...) when using TCPIP as it's transport?

I know nothing, but a quick Google search for
SNS Watchdog port
found things like:

http://odl.sysworks.biz/disk$axpdocmar961/decw$book/d341aa14.p34.decw$book

[...]
[...] SYS$STARTUP:SNS$STARTUP.COM [...]
[...]
$ ! Sns$tcp_number defines the tcp port number to be used in
$ ! communicating with System Watchdog for UNIX Agents. The
$ ! default tcp port number is 251.
$ !
$ ! assign/system/executive_mode 251 sns$tcp_number
[...]

Re: SNS Watchdog transport changing to TCPIP - what ports?

A "ucx show service" on the OpenVMS consolidator shows service SYS$WATCH using port 251 but the OpenVMS server running the agent, which has been put into the vault, i.e. behind a firewall, has no such service so I thought it must be communicating over some other port, such as 512 and 513 and 514.
The consolidator is OpenVMS VAX V6.2 and the agent is OpenVMS AXP V7.1. TCPIP is UCX V4.2 ECO 5.

Does the agent not require the same port (251) as the consolidator to communicate back and forth?

That would show on which port a server
("consolidator"?) process is _listening_ (or
not, "Enabled" v. "Disabled"). Did you try,
say:

ucx show devi [ /port = nnn ]
?

That might show you something useful on a
client system.

Knowing nothing, I'd assume so, but a client
(agent?) system might not be _listening_ to
anything.

assume to be normal tcpip ports.
