SRM command to get IPC ?

Disaster happen always when I'm far away from my system :-(

I need the SRM command to access the IPC on a DEC3000 to regain quorum.
It was in older OpenVMS FAQs, but I can't find nowhere.
On the >>> SRM promt type
deposit ?? ??
Then in IPC> Q ?

I have access to the console via Internet.

Thanks for answers. . .

Re: SRM command to get IPC ?

Not sure about the exact syntax for the 3000 :-(

On recent Alphas it is:
>>> deposit sirr c

On VAX computers it is
>>> d/i 14 c

then, immediately:
>>> continue
.

Re: SRM command to get IPC ?

From a previous thread:

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=985038

>>> D SIRR C
>>> C
IPC> Q
IPC>

HTH,
Art

In VAX I believe it was >>> d/i 14 c and then continue.

Now my cluster isn't blocked until I travel back 600 km.

Re: SRM command to get IPC ?

Art , thanks for the link:
a search in OpenVMS forums for IPC does not find this thread, strange.

Re: SRM command to get IPC ?

note that the recommended way of doing a quorum fix is now to use AMDS/Availability Manager rather than the IPC at the console.

Re: SRM command to get IPC ?

If quorum ist lost and one can't login, AMDS is not very helpfull, and console access is the only way.
Of course for a permanently logged on system/manger/monitor/operator that's o.k.,
but it's not my situation.

Re: SRM command to get IPC ?

As far as a cluster that's lost quorum, you can either have a system running AMDS that isn't particpating in the cluster or lower yourself to using Availablity Manager on a "Windows" system. Either option has a variety of options for remote access.

Why do they call it "terminal services" if it displays a GUI?
