Password prompt. I think the default is "system".

Re: Telnet to dec server 90M+

That's the prompt for the so-called system or server password on the terminal server. That password was intended to keep folks from getting onto the terminal server that weren't authorized to access it.

You'll either need to find out what that password is, or you will need to perform a factory reset on the terminal server.

Terminal server manuals are available at various spots around the Internet.

http://vt100.net/manx has various DECserver manuals, and these may be enough to figure out how to run a DECserver (command sets on the 90 series and the 700 series are very similar), though all of these products are now at Vnetek Communications; the old DEC terminal server group was sold off, has been transferred and renamed, and the Vnetek folks are where you get DECserver and DECserver information and manuals now. Check at the Vnetek web site, too.

Here's the factory reset sequence for most of these DECserver devices:

Re: Telnet to dec server 90M+

try "access"

if you get in and need to do anything requiring privilege then do "set priv" and then enter "system"

hope this helps
