Upgrade 6.2 1H3 to 7.3

My 2nd upgrade. This time an AS1000 4/200.
Firmware CD version 5.4 was installed.

I want to preserve and the old system disk was DKA0. But when I answer DKA0: as the target disk, the upgrade shows

DKA0: is write locked

You must enter the device name for the target disk on which OpenVMS Alpha will be installed.

And it prompts again. Entering ? show dka0 Mounted alloc, wrtlck.

Whats wrong ?

Got it solved. But still an exercise for the others.

Re: Upgrade 6.2 1H3 to 7.3

Wim,

DKA0: may have previously been a shadowset member ? You cannot upgrade OpenVMS on a shadowset member before first dissolving the shadowset by using MOUNT/OVER=SHADOW

Correct Volker.
I would have expected a better error message.
