Upgrade from 7.3-1 to 7.3-2

Hi,

I need (want) to upgrade a couple of DS20E machines from 7.3-1 to 7.3-2. How/where can I get the CD image for the 7.3-2 install? I've tried contacting HP sales but no reponse yet.

Thank you,
Bobby

Robert,
I don't believe you can get any CD out of HP vendor. You can read vms page http://h71000.www7.hp.com/swcat/us/opersysovms.html
for furthermore information.

Bobby,

if your right to upgrade is o.k., then you may rent a CD-set from a colleague or buy one via HP. The ordernumber should by noted on the SPD.

If you have access to BULOVA.ZKO.DEC.COM then you can locate the AlphaVMS 7.3-2 ZIP file at ALPHA$KITS:[000000.V73-2_SSB]ALPHA0732.ZIP;1

Re: Upgrade from 7.3-1 to 7.3-2

... at ALPHA$KITS:[000000.V73-2_SSB]...

BEWARE!!!!

Using the " [000000. " syntax is asking for trouble!

The danger is not that big in input specifications, but, when used on output...

If the device name in this construct is a concealed device, say, in the above example,
ALPHADISK:[KITS.], then, using the above syntax, one might create
ALPHADISK:[KITS.000000.V73-2_SSB]

... and now all kinds of funny things are possible!!

To ALL:

Please, please, please, for yourself and anyone after you that has to use what you leave behind:

=======================================

NEVER use a syntax with " [000000. " !!!!

=======================================

(for completeness, [000000] _IS_ ok )

Proost.

Have one on me.

It is very unlikely that BULOVA.ZKO.DEC.COM is accessable form outside the HP network.

Re: Upgrade from 7.3-1 to 7.3-2

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I apparently do not have access to the BULOVA.ZKO.DEC.COM site. Turns out that we had just received a DS15 machine for another part of our lab and it came with the 7.3-2 CD. So... I'm set. I don't understand, however, why HP does not post maintance versions of the OS on their web site. If a person is licensed for the update then why charge them $300 for a CD?
