WEBES installation problem

Hi,

I'm trying to install WEBES v4.4 on an alpha ES40 running OpenVMS 7.3-1 but the installation hangs after the messages:-

TCPIP IVP: started.

UDP/IP test started at 12-APR-2005...

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Martin

Re: WEBES installation problem

Martin,

there seems to be something wrong with your TCPIP setup/configuration.

Try to separately invoke

$ @SYS$TEST:TCPIP$IVP

to run the TCPIP IVP outside the WEBES installation.

Re: WEBES installation problem

Hi Volker,

Thanks for your reply.

I tried this and got the error message

TCPIP IVP: error - create and Bind receiver device-socket
SYSTEM-F-DUPLNAM, duplicate name.

I've just done an interrupt during installation and it appears to have finished ok.

When I now repeat the IVP test it completes successfully.

Just doing some more testing.

Thanks again.

Re: WEBES installation problem

Martin,

the DUPLNAM error indicates, that another TCPIP program was already using the same IP port.

If @SYS$TEST:TCPIP$IVP works now and WEBES V4.4 also works, then consider this a minor problem ;-)

Volker.
