This poses some challenges.

Do you want to continue? [YES]
The following product will be removed from destination:

Re: Webes V3.1-12 deinstallation problems
the v5.1 webes install guide mentions using the install menu option 'deinstall' to remove previous versions :-

Re: Webes V3.1-12 deinstallation problems
That's the problem. There is only WEBES: NO SEA or WCCproxy. And the command procedure to delete WEBES is not present. And starting WEBES also fails because files are not present.

Re: Webes V3.1-12 deinstallation problems
For now we only tried to de-install the old version.
I will schedule some time just to install the new version. And let the outcome know in here.
This time I was trying to do it the proper way ;-)

Re: Webes V3.1-12 deinstallation problems
I had the same error with deinstallation of WEBES V4.0-7
please try this (you will see more information):
PROD REMOVE WEBES /TRACE
=======
The following product has been selected:
DEC AXPVMS WEBES V4.0-7 Platform (product suite)
Do you want to continue? [YES]
The following product will be removed from destination:
DEC AXPVMS WEBES V4.0-7 DISK$BKSYS1:[VMS$COMMON.]
Portion done: 0%
%PCSI-I-PRCCREATE, creating non-interactive subprocess PCSI$56A3_N0001
%PCSI-I-PRCINPUT, input to subprocess follows ...
$ DEFINE/NOLOG PCSI$DESTINATION DSA1:[SYS0.SYSCOMMON.]
%PCSI-I-PRCINPUT, input to subprocess follows ...
$ DEFINE/NOLOG PCSI$SCRATCH DSA1:[SYS0.SYSMGR.PCSI$SCR246056A3]
%PCSI-I-PRCINPUT, input to subprocess follows ...
@PCSI$DESTINATION:[COMPAQ.SVCTOOLS.BIN]REMOVE_OLD_CCAT_VERSION.COM
%PCSI-I-PRCOUTPUT, output from subprocess follows ...
%DCL-W-IVVERB, unrecognized command verb - check validity and spelling
%PCSI-I-PRCOUTPUT, output from subprocess follows ...
\DESTA\ <<<<< HERE IS THE ERROR <<<<<
%PCSI-I-PRCSTATUS, command completion status: %X10038090
%PCSI-E-EXERMVFAIL, product supplied EXECUTE REMOVE procedure failed
-CLI-W-IVVERB, unrecognized command verb - check validity and spelling
%PCSI-E-OPFAILED, operation failed
Terminating is strongly recommended. Do you want to terminate? [YES]
%PCSI-E-CANCEL_WIP, termination resulted in an incomplete modification to the system
%PCSI-I-PRCLOGOUT, non-interactive subprocess PCSI$56A3_N0001 has logged out
%PCSI-E-S_OPCAN, operation cancelled by request
%PCSIUI-E-ABORT, operation terminated due to an unrecoverable error condition
So I just edit the procedure:
PCSI$DESTINATION:[COMPAQ.SVCTOOLS.BIN]REMOVE_OLD_CCAT_VERSION.COM
at the beginning with following line:
$desta :=="@SVCTOOLS_HOME:
Maybe this could help you.
Also important this logicals:
define/system/exec/trans=conceal SVCTOOLS_HOME DSA1:
and
defi/syst/exec PCSI$DESTINATION sys$common
After this changing the remove of WEBES was successful:
Portion done: 100%
The following product has been removed:
DEC AXPVMS WEBES V4.0-7
