I have got running production servers, whereI want to check the X25 configurations.
Is X25$configure the only way of checking the configurations ?
I hope NCL files can also help a lot , but can I rely on NCL files for the configuration parameters as many a times they are not get updated during the configuration changes.
The alst configuration changes were done many years back on X25 and tis still running the same.
How can I see the profiles and incomming call security implemented on my machines.
Can runnning X25$ctp help regarding this .
I just want to check my configuration and do not intend to make any changes on the machine or network.
Thanking you in advance

SolutionX25 configuration is in:
SYS$STARTUP:x25$config.ncl
(this file generally contains all configurations parameters to X25 including filters, templates and dte classes).
You can allso find some configurations data (about X25 circuits) in net$routing_startup.ncl.
Regards.

Re: X25 configuration
"mc ncl sho x25 ..." can also help a lot.
(I useually use "mc ncl sho x25 prot dte * all" to chek our XOT connections.)

Re: X25 configuration
Re: X25 configuration
The command sho x25 proto dte * all checks charasteristics and status of DTEs and serves to display all level 2 protocols type (LLC2, LAPB, XOT).
Other mode of check communications status is use trace utility.

Re: X25 configuration
Re: X25 configuration
First thanx to all for their efforts and valuable suggestions.
The X25 is running on an Alpha 2100 machine running VMS 6.2 which is on the same LAN with an VAX V6.1. This VAX machine is boot server to one DEMSB router. X25 in our case is running on Alpha .
The problem here is we are receiving a call
on VAX and its been rejected.
Is it possible that the VAX could be running as a gateway for Alpha machine ?
I have found some gateway com files in sys$startup:
X25$GWY_GATEWAY_CONFIG.COM;5
X25$GWY_HOST_CONFIG.COM;5
X25$GWY_SCRIPT_COMPILE.COM;5
X25$GWY_HOST_PHASE_TYPE.COM;2
Does it mean the Vax could be running as gateway and should be reciving callls and forwarding them to alpha. We are reciving one call on this vax which is getting rejected.
If it is so, is it possible to define the call parameters on Alpha machine.
Also on emore thing, there is no X25 license loaded on VAX !!!
Thanx
