bl870c firmware, specifically for hba's
In the old (and still current) alpha days, we would upgrade hba firmware via the alpha firmware cd, and that's where we could look to find out what the latest version was, also. (side note, I don't think there's any new alpha firmware after 7.3, circa 2008?)
(Since my boss is asking) I need to find out what the latest firmware is for these hba's. Google searches don't seem to be helping, and on hp's site for integrity firmware, http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=3709945&prodSeriesId=3676868&swItem=ux-80506-1&prodNameId=3676869&swEnvOID=4021&swLang=8&taskId=135&mode=4&idx=1
(hope that link comes out okay, sorry if not!) it doesn't mention hba's at all.
Can anyone tell me how to find out the latest (for vms?) firmware version for these hba's - and then the next questions might be how to get it and apply it!
Thanks,
Ron

Re: bl870c firmware, specifically for hba's
I have a feeling that the HBA firmware is packaged with the system firmware, although I havent been able for find any confirmation for this.
Looking at the last System Firmware Patch,
(your Link)
I see that it was issued on the 25-Feb 2010, and interestingly, the HBA firmware on my BL860c's was linked on 24-FEB-2010. I installed the firmware patch in July.
It may be just a coincidence of course.
When I first went to the blades in late 2008, the upgrade process was really nasty, however I haven't had to do any HBA upgrades since. This is fortunate since the most recent version I can find on the web is 4.00.22. (compare 4.00.90 currently running)

Re: bl870c firmware, specifically for hba's
Here's the forum that does the Integrity boxes:
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/categoryhome.do?categoryId=275
The HP StorageWorks folks have their own stovepipe:
http://www.hp.com/storage/spock
And the c-class BladeSystem stovepipe starts here:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/blades/components/matrix/compatibility.html
The firmware arrives with the EFI firmware for most of this stuff, AFAIK, though there's certainly the possibility of an out-of-sequence update for a specific (buggy) widget.
This Qlogic ISP2432 chip is used on at least the QMH2462 mezzanine card (403619-B21), and details of that are here:
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/blades/components/fibrechannel/qlogic/
And the platform firmware path starts here:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/blades/components/c-class.html#tab3_content
And that there are no larger and more critical organizational issues afoot here and that are more worthy of managerial consideration beyond a mezzanine card is somewhere between generally odd and mildly disconcerting. Bikeshedding is never a good sign. Heck, I'd be looking for what I could haul in to automate this firmware-checking stuff or how to get rid of as much of the installed hardware as I can (in any of various possible dimensions of "rid" here), if nothing else. Whatever is costing time and money. That's not usually the current HBA firmware revision on a mezzanine card.

Can't say I've heard the term "bikeshedding" before...guess I'll have to look that up.
