console manager disk overhead

Using CA console manager, when we archive the log files to the archive directory, it works fine, but the logfiles retain the large allocation so we have 10,000 block files now that dir/siz/all says need 1,500,000 blocks.
How can we get these files to release the overhead? set volume/rebuild=force no effect. analy/disk/repair no effect.

Re: console manager disk overhead

Have you tried
$ set file/truncate
to see what happens?

It's been 3 years since I worked with Console Manager and I'm a bit rusty on what I was doing with disk space management back then.
Master you were right about 1 thing -- the negotiations were SHORT!

Hi,

did you consider to try SET FILE/TRUNCATE ?

Volker.

Re: console manager disk overhead

set file/truc has no effect with console manager running and the files open. I will try it later after I can shutdown console manager.

Yes the set file/truncate worked with the files closed.
