failSAFE Error

I am getting the following sequence of messages in the failSAFE log. Can anyone explain the 'not local protocol address' message?

Sample Log:

If no one else is willing to jump in I'll venture something.

How many interfaces are defined in this failsafe configuration?

Are the network interfaces hard set at both the Alpha and the switch to agree on speed and duplex configuration?

It appears that your failsafe address is cycling between two NICs. I'd start looking at the network first.
