missing advanced server user database
Advanced Server V7.3-A4 (configured netbui, TCPIP * & Advanced Server Only, WINS used)
OpenVMS v7.3-2 as PDC
other Alpha Servers running as BDC's
Problem: Recently moved all servers to a new network environment. DECnet and IP addressing has changed. Restarted PDC and one
other BDC. After server restarts, only shares are visible, no user account database nor hostmap can be found? Just administrator and guest appear so how can I get back my user database, etc? Takes longer to logon the domain as well.
Thanks and Regards,
Matt

Re: missing advanced server user database
On the same note I did a pwrk$shutdown on all servers and ran a samcheck -s
The answer was "No corruption was detected in the SAM database."
What to do?

I know nothing, but it's fairly common to see
sloth after a network configuration change
because of problems with DNS. Many programs
do reverse (number-to-name) look-ups, and get
upset when the answer is not available, or
when it differs from expectations.
